wow! when will the party end? who knows. just been busy with life, music and sports. theme for this week is auditions!
as far as sports go… we are currently auditioning for a canucks blog so expect our “demo” to show up here soon. most like a rant about drafting and what to do about FA’s and RFA’s. what will they think of goin’ non-caps? in other news:
- bowling a steady 130 so far. lookin’ at getting it to 150 by season’s end. pb =212! that game was awesome. too bad i followed it up with a 120. but that is the game i guess. bowling hot and cold as last nites practice session with the team showed. practice makes perfect!
- congrats on TFC for winning 6-1 last night! what a great game! what “impact” were on the pitch? none we thinks.
- RIOS! learn to keep your head in the game! could be worse though, we could have Milton Bradley.
- Jays pitchers continue to impress!
- hint to the majors: to stop drugs in sport = either incarcerate the offenders OR punish the team in the standings (ie: take away pts and/or wins.) that will rid the prob in a blink of an eye! easy peasy!
Gotta run. Literally. Woodpeck will return shortly with Canucks rants in hand!

So J.C. Romero gets 50 games for taking a banned substance. This is the same Phillies reliever that won 2 games in the World Series for the winning team. Does this taint the Philly win? You bet it does! It doesn’t matter that he “unknowingly” took an over the counter supplement that contained a banned substance. Or that it wasn’t marked as containing anything illegal. He was under the influence and he had a DIRECT impact on team results! That is the bottom line here!
Enjoy your tainted win and rings Philly! What a disappointment and embarassment to the game and the organization mistake or not. Give the Tampa Bay Rays the championship or at the very least MLB should put an asterisk beside the Phillies name in the record books. Will either happen? Not bloodly likely.
We will do it ourselves and the fans will know.

We here at The Hills Are Alive can’t stand cheaters.
The 2010 Winter Olympics represents an excellent opportunity for Canada to make a stand for fairness, ethics and for the true spirit of the original Olympics. We believe if you are caught for using performance enhancing drugs during the 2010 Winter Olympics it should be a crime. That on top of what is already in place internationally, if you are caught while in Canada the offending athlete will serve jail time. It doesn’t matter if it is for a day, a night, a week, a month or 6 months. We just want the offender to serve time and have that incarceration permanently on their record.
We want to make it clear that it is against the rules and law here in Canada to cheat and while you are competing here and caught, you will go to jail. Once time is served the offender will be immediately deported.
We hope that this post will start some debate on the matter and ultimately get some action to happen. It doesn’t just end here with this post. We plan on following this idea up with more action. The concept is simple, effective, ethical and within reason. Now is the time to seize the moment, to make a stand to do the right thing while the spotlight is upon us. So bring it on! Updates to follow so stay tuned…
