Top 40 Hit!

Just a quick note to say that Woodpeck is now a top 40 ranked table hockey player in the province!  Great tourney this past weekend in Cambridge.  Good times were had and we played the best we have out of all of the 3 events we’ve entered recently.  Just goes to show that if you keep at, success will come.  Or maybe it means, keep drinking at these events and you’ll play better.  REGARDLESS, more on the tourney later. We’re still a little too excited about dem Canucks to write anything worthwhile!

Preparing 4 The 3rd Tourney!

This weekend we play in our 3rd table hockey tourney in the past 6 weeks.  We just analysed the stats from the previous 2 tourneys and our fears were realized:

• we averaged only 3 goals for and 1.5 goals for respectively in the first 2 tourneys
• we averaged 5 goals against and 2.5 goals against respectively in the first 2 tourneys

With numbers like that, its easy to see why we fail.  Lookin’ at either practicing b4 this last tourney and/or adding alcohol to the mix while we play.  Results to be posted on Sunday! Bring it ON!

When you put the Puck on the Net, Good Things are Going to Happen

Breakfast is being served, here’s what’s on the proverbial table:

• The Toronto Classic Table Hockey Championship is celebrating its 10th anniversary in March 2009 and we’re happy to be involved with the promotion of the event!  Mark Saturday March 21st 2009 down on your calendars for a puck-tacular time!  We’ll be competing for the 4th straight year so we’ll hope to see you there.  Its a great time no matter your skill level or experience.  Trust us, we’re no pros either!  More on that in the weeks ahead!
• Rumours ran rampant this past weekend that we’ve now joined a running group that will see us competing at various GTA running events starting in December.  The catch is the communication and organizing of the group is not up to us.  We’ll see if those who took that ball will pick it up and run with it or not.  More news as it comes available!
• As HUGE CANUCKS fans, we are efforting to take a road trip with the team as they embark on a long awaited central Canada road trip in February 2009.  Over 6 days, they take on Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.  We are working out the finer details but it looks as though this is a done deal and of course, we’ll blog the entire adventure.  Can’t wait!
